Football is back (again)!
WEDNESDAY TRAINING UPDATE
Hi goals, we can’t wait to have you back at training!
We are still waiting for confirmation that Haggerston Pitch is open this week (02/11). Regardless, the post for training will go up as usual on Monday at 7:30 pm. If training is not on, we will cancel the event (and you will get a notification) by the end of Tuesday.
Training will definitely be on, on the 9th & 16th December. The pitch is closed on the 23rd & 30th December, but we’ll be organising lots of festive kickarounds.

UPCOMING FIXTURES
FUNDRAISING
The holidays are here and so is this limited edition GDFC Holiday Tote. It's time to dig deep into your pockets, as all proceeds will go straight back into the club. Gift one to your favourite goal or grab one for yourself while they last! Buy it here.
C4 FILM
We featured in an amazing short documentary style film made by Channel 4 for their social media channels.
They gave us a very generous donation to take part in this. This money will help towards covering the huge loss of our MOZF fundraising money and subsidising our new training pitch. In December we will publish a financial update on our in-goings and out-goings for this membership block.
GDFC MAG SUBMISSIONS
Submissions are open for GDFC Mag - and the deadline has been extended!
The theme for this issue is PITCH, which we encourage you to interpret as widely or as closely as you please. The big news for us this year has been getting Haggerston Pitch, our new training ground. We want to use this issue to reflect on our campaign for space in the football community and other issues stemming from this - whether it's your individual struggle finding a place to play during lockdown, or wider issues of space and representation. We would love to hear your pitch! The deadline for submissions will be Friday 11th December.
If you have any ideas or would like to contribute to issue 3 as a writer or an illustrator, please email me at mag@goaldiggersfootballclub.com.
A reminder that GDFC Mag is written for and by the community. Everyone is welcome to contribute, regardless of experience. You can read our previous issues here: https://www.goaldiggersfootballclub.com/store.
We are looking for material for the following sections:
NEWS AND FEATURES
A longer-length piece (max 1750 words) related to the theme. This doesn’t have to be about football. As ever, we are keen for the mag to reflect the current events, e.g. lockdown 2 and the US election.
CREATIVE
Creative writing, poetry, art, drawing, photography, cartoons.
COLUMNS
Short form opinion pieces.
FOOD
Cookery tips and recipe ideas.
LIFESTYLE
Fashion, health, football training tips.
GDFC CRUSH
Do you have a GDFC crush? Tell them anonymously here. Please, keep it clean.
AGONY AUNT
Do you have a problem for our agony aunts to solve? Are you a dab hand offering advice? Let us know.
ENTERTAINMENT
Reviews or recommendations (books, film, music, podcasts, online theatre, TV, activities, things to do - you name it).
QUIZZES/PUZZLES/GAMES
Do you know anyone who would like to contribute? Please share this if so!
THURSDAY FOOTBALL
40+ is back this week!
These sessions are aimed at women and non-binary players who are over the average age of GDFC’s membership. We welcome players of all fitness levels or abilities.
